Interlocks Surveys Expands North

Celebrating Our New Edinburgh Office

Interlocks Surveys is proud to announce a significant milestone in our continued growth: the opening of our brand-new office in the heart of Edinburgh. Located in the historic New Town this expansion marks a definitive commitment to the Scottish market and significantly improves our operational efficacy across the UK.

Since 1995 Interlocks has delivered industry-leading geospatial data to clients nationwide and has been proud to work with many clients north of the border. In recent years however we have noticed additional demand for high-quality, reliable surveying across Scotland. While the broader UK development market faces significant headwinds, Scotland has demonstrated resilience, particularly in the residential and renewable infrastructure sectors. By establishing a permanent presence in the central belt we are opening new possibilities for our Scottish partners, and an exciting new chapter for Interlocks.

Bringing Expertise Closer to Home

The launch of the Edinburgh office is driven by a simple goal; to provide better, faster, and more efficient service to our Scottish clients.

Previously, supporting projects in the region often meant deploying teams from much further afield – impacting lead times and cost. With a dedicated local team now based in Edinburgh, we can offer:
Rapid Mobilisation: We can now respond to urgent site requirements with significantly reduced lead times, ensuring your project momentum is never lost.
Cost Efficiency: A local presence eliminates the need for extensive travel and accommodation costs previously associated with bringing surveyors up from the south – savings we can pass directly to our clients.
Local Knowledge: There is no substitute for on-the-ground expertise. Our team understands the unique geography, logistical challenges, and regulatory landscape of the Scottish market.

Whether it is a remote topographical survey in the Highlands, a measured building survey for a heritage property in Glasgow, or underground utility mapping in Edinburgh’s city centre, Interlocks is now positioned to deliver with greater agility than ever before.

Leadership in Edinburgh: Introducing Fraser Andrew

We are equally delighted to announce that the new Edinburgh office will be led by Fraser Andrew, who takes on the role of Survey Manager.

Fraser brings over ten years of industry experience to the table – most recently having been the key utilities contact for WSP UK. He brings a wealth of technical experience and a client-focused approach that aligns perfectly with the Interlocks ethos. His leadership ensures that the new branch will hit the ground running, maintaining the rigorous RICS-regulated standards our clients expect. Under Fraser’s direction, the Edinburgh team is fully equipped to handle our complete portfolio of services.

Fraser will be the primary point of contact for our Scottish operations, ensuring that every project receives the dedicated management and precision it deserves.
We look forward to reconnecting with existing clients and meeting new partners across Scotland, and to playing an integral role in Scotland’s built environment for years to come.

I wanted to take a moment to share some very positive feedback regarding Jamie, currently supporting the works at Westbury Viaduct. Since joining the team, Jamie has made a noticeable and genuinely positive difference. His proactivity, strong work ethic, and engaged communication with the client have all stood out. He has integrated quickly and effectively into the team, and his approach has already helped strengthen collaboration on site. I felt it was important to highlight the value he is adding, and to let you know that his contribution is very much appreciated. We look forward to continuing the momentum as we progress with the successful installation of the parapets. Thanks again, and please pass on our appreciation to Jamie.

The survey data we received last night was exactly what we needed. It showed us that the existing access road doesn’t match our construction drawings, which is a significant find for us. Thanks again for managing to rearrange your schedule; it’s really helped us stay on track with our tight deadlines.

That is excellent thank you. Thank you and the team for your hard work on this. I appreciate it was a whopper of a project to get done given the sheer scale of the site and all the off site highways to considered.
