Measured Building Surveys

What is a Measured Building Survey?

Measured building surveys provide a detailed and highly accurate representation of a building’s structural features – typically including floor plans, elevations, and sections. They are based on precise measurements taken on-site using a variety of surveying techniques, principally 3D reality capture technology, which allows us to quickly and efficiently document the size, shape, and layout of a structure.
Our measured building surveys are delivered to client specification and, as a minimum, comply with the standards set out in RICS guidance note Measured Surveys of Land, Buildings and Utilities – 3rd Edition.

When do I need a Measured Building Survey?

Measured building surveys are commonly required for development, renovation, conservation, or legal and property documentation purposes, such as Land Registry-compliant plans. The resulting plans or models can then go on to inform further works, help with upkeep and maintenance, or aid in transactions or leasing.
A measured building survey is appropriate whenever a millimetre-accurate plans or digital representation of a building are required.
